Official Data Sources & Lookup Notice
1. Current registry source
The Maine DEP Registration Lookup is designed to use beverage-container registration information published by the Maine Department of Environmental Protection when that is the loaded official source. The result screen identifies the source and the calendar date the data was loaded.
2. Source may change
If Maine moves the official registry or other relevant data to MBRG or another official organization, RedemptionBase may update the displayed source name and import process. The source line should identify the organization that actually published the data being used, not merely the organization coordinating pickups or another part of the bottle-redemption system.
3. No independent verification
RedemptionBase does not create or independently verify official registration records. Results depend on the accuracy, completeness, date, and format of the loaded source. Frequent publication or update of a source does not guarantee that every deposit-bearing product appears in it.
4. Meaning of lookup states
- REGISTERED IN MAINE DEP DATA means the loaded data contains a current matching registration record.
- NOT FOUND IN THE REGISTRATION LIST means no matching registration appears in the loaded data. It is not a determination that the container is non-deposit or must be refused.
- REGISTRATION EXPIRED IN LOADED DATA means the loaded data contains a matching record whose recorded expiration has passed. The expiration is reported as a data point; the center should verify before making a redemption decision.
5. No affiliation
RedemptionBase is independent software and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of Maine DEP, MBRG, a commingling group, pickup agent, distributor, or other industry organization unless expressly stated otherwise in writing.
6. Operational responsibility
The redemption center remains responsible for container acceptance/refusal decisions, applicable law and rules, contracts, sort requirements, pickup requirements, and any verification it considers necessary.
